Only a month to the long-awaited 2023 European Championships. While the Organizing Committee’s inspections continue in Verona, Soave and Vicenza with the advisors of the International Orienteering Federation, sport and territory are increasingly at the center of the event, also valid as World Cup finals. The collaboration with Lago di Garda in Love is a new demonstration of this philosophy.
The third edition of the widespread “in love” project, which was held from August 10 to 15, won over not only the tourists who flock to the waters of Lake Garda every year but also many Italians who thus had one more reason to celebrate their love overlooking the lake. Between themed set-ups, such as giant hearts, cubes and selfie points, in the most picturesque places and free-use proposals among the streets of the villages and towns, thousands of visitors immortalized these spectacular moments.
With various information totems, the European Championships also peeped out on the lakefront of the eight municipalities participating in Estate d’Amore 2023: Malcesine, Brenzone sul Garda, Torri del Benaco, Bardolino, San Zeno di Montagna, Lazise, Castelnuovo del Garda, Valeggio sul Mincio plus the host resorts of Innsbruck, Soave, Jesolo and Montagnana. Six days with more than a hundred initiatives spread across the different localities.
A GREAT CALENDAR OF EVENTS
The opening night in Malcesine, with the presence of Councillor for Events Sara Pallua, was enlivened by the picturesque Les Montgolfieres parade. A packed audience in Torri del Benaco for the concert-tribute to Lucio Battisti and the double Piano Sky, a pair of pianos suspended in the air. In addition to the Aperitifs and DjSets under the stars in Bardolino, sold-outs also for the proposals in Lazise, first with the Tyrolean folk dances from Innsbruck and then for the Dama del Lago in front of the Dogana Veneta: a magical glimpse of the old port, listening to the song of the artist suspended over the water. Thousands of eyes were also on the 15 of August proposal in San Zeno di Montagna, where a suspended Piano Sky spread romantic melodies from the slopes of Mount Baldo.
